Teri is an interior designer who specializes in residential Living in Place design which enables individuals as well as multi-generational households to live independently regardless of ability or stage of life. Teri is uniquely poised to assess existing accommodations in light of clients’ unique needs and then recommend options for integrating assistive equipment and aids for daily living into the design of their home to maximize their quality of life at any age.
Designer of all Trades
Teri’s design journey spans more than 20 years and numerous disciplines, including print, graphic, web, and interior design. After cutting her teeth at MAC Design, a California-based kitchen and bath design firm, she launched Accessible Designs for Life in 2022. Through this venture, she aims to provide cost-effective and stylish solutions that marry the tenets of universal design, accessible design, and ergonomics, resulting in visitable spaces that are inclusive to individuals across multiple generations and the wide spectrum of abilities
Unique Experience
One of mere hundreds of professionals worldwide who hold the Living in Place Institute’s Certified Living in Place Professional (CLIPP) certification, she is intimately acquainted with the challenges family members have faced due to vision and hearing impairments and the extreme mobility limitations brought on by progressive diseases such as diabetes, cancer, multiple sclerosis, deafness and macular degeneration. Teri is passionate about designing solutions that accommodate such needs.
